About Us

Dog Walks Since 1992

DOG DAY AFTERNOONS was started in September of 1992.  I wanted to turn my love of animals (particularly my love of dogs) into a career, so I decided to start a professional dog walking service in San Francisco.. At the time, there were only about a dozen professional dog walkers in San Francisco. Since that time, the dog walking and pet-sitting business has exploded in San Francisco!  I pride myself in giving the highest quality of extremely personalized service available. I go the extra mile for each and every client - and I wouldn’t want it any other way. In addition to daily Monday through Friday group dog walks, I also offer pet sitting and dog boarding in my home.  San Francisco neighborhoods we cover include: The Marina, Cow Hollow, Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, Anza Vista, Western Addition, Upper Haight, Lower Haight, Duboce Triangle, NOPA, The Panhandle, USF and Laurel Heights. If you are looking for a San Francisco dog walker, look no further!

More about the owner:

My two great loves in life are music and animals. I am the lead singer of a blues band called HIGHWATER BLUES. And in addition to walking dogs every weekday, I also devote much of my free time to animal causes, charities, fundraisers and volunteering. I have volunteered in past years at the San Francisco SPCA in the dog behavior department, in the hearing dog department and in the animal assisted care (AAT) department.

I also regularly donate my time and services to various animal rescue groups and charities.

PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support) is one such organization. My last dog and I volunteered with the "wag brigade" at the San Francisco International Airport.

San Francisco County Approved

I am licensed, bonded and insured. I am a fully registered and licensed business with San Francisco County. And I carry a San Francisco Professional Dog Walker permit.

In 1998 I co-founded the first professional organization for San Francisco professional dog walkers. My goals were to organize professional dog walkers and show a united front to the government and citizens of San Francisco, to show professional dog walkers as responsible business owners.
